Making an Impact

A Brief History

Ronan Fishbein, Jonathan Schwartz, and Noah Packman, all members of the Berkeley High School Crew team founded this organization in 2022 to focus on addressing a persistent problem they commonly encountered; garbage piling up in the parks and water in and around where they rowed. With an emphasis on community activism and getting students involved, they hosted public cleanups getting members of the community involved in giving back. The goals of the organization are to increase community activism, get more students involved in volunteer work, clean up the public areas around the Oakland Estuary and the estuary itself, and get local government and private companies to get involved in revitalizing and investing in the areas.

Where We Are Today
